Terms of Use
Last updated November 1, 2026
1. Agreeing to these terms
- DocuBible (docubible.com) is owned and run by an individual based in California ("DocuBible", "we", "us"), who can be reached through the contact form. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use DocuBible.
2. The service
- DocuBible is free to use. There are no ads, no fees and no paid tier.
- We may add, change or remove features, and the site may sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
4. Your notes
- What you write belongs to you. You give us permission only to store, copy and display it as needed to run DocuBible for you, and that permission ends when you delete it.
- Your notes are private to your account. You are responsible for what you write.
- Keep your own copy of anything important. DocuBible lets you export your notes, but we can't promise that data will never be lost.
5. Bible text
- Each Bible translation belongs to its publisher. The New American Standard Bible, the Amplified Bible, the New International Version (NIV, NIrV and the Anglicised NIV), the New Living Translation and the English Standard Version are shown by permission, for reading on DocuBible only. Each publisher's notice is on the Bible Copyrights page.
- Don't copy, download or collect large parts of any licensed translation, and don't use DocuBible to gather Bible text for another website, app or AI system.
- Each licensed translation has a daily reading limit. When it is reached, the chapter is shown in the King James Version instead.
6. Things you must not do
- Break the law, or use DocuBible to harm or harass anyone.
- Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools on the site, or try to get around its limits or security.
- Try to reach other people's accounts or data, or disrupt the site for others.
- Pretend to be someone else, or send spam through the contact form.
7. Ending your use
- You can stop using DocuBible and delete your account whenever you like.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Unless it would be unsafe or unlawful, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your notes.
8. No warranty
- DocuBible is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate and running, but we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose. Notes, word studies and other tools are aids to study, not authoritative teaching.
9. Limit of liability
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from your use of DocuBible. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to US $50.
- Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10. Governing law
- These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States. If a dispute can't be settled by talking it through, it will be decided in the courts of that state.
11. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users before they take effect. Using DocuBible after that means you accept the new terms.
12. The rest
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about DocuBible.
