Reading
Do I need an account?
Not to read or search. You need a free account to write notes, highlight, add themes and keep your place across devices.
Why did a chapter switch to the KJV?
The NASB, Amplified, NIV, NIrV, NIV UK, NLT and ESV are used by permission and each has a daily reading limit. When a limit is reached, the chapter is shown in the King James Version instead, and a line under the chapter title says when the translation you chose will be back.
Where did my highlight go when I changed translation?
Highlights belong to the translation you made them in, because the wording differs from one translation to the next. Switch back and it's still there. Study shows all your highlights together, whichever translation you made them in.
Notes
How do I write a note?
Click the note card beside a verse and start typing. Notes save on their own as you write.
What do Verse by verse, Whole book and Whole notebook mean?
They're three ways to write in the same notebook. Verse by verse keeps a note beside each verse. Whole book is one long page about a book. Whole notebook is a free page not tied to any verse.
How do I link two passages?
Select some words in a verse or a note, choose "Connect this to a verse", add the other passage and press Connect. A chain mark appears beside both verses.
What is a theme?
A subject you want to follow through the Bible, like covenant or grace. Select a verse or some words and choose "Tag a theme". Each theme gets its own page in Study.
What are questions for?
For anything you don't understand yet. Select the words and choose "Ask a question". It waits under Still wondering in Study until you write the answer and mark it Understood.
Can I get a deleted note back?
Yes. Open the Recycle Bin from the sidebar and restore it. Deleted notes stay there for 30 days from the day you deleted them, then they're removed for good.
Can I download my notes?
Yes, as a PDF or Word file: use the download button at the top of the notes pane.
What if I edit the same note in two places?
Nothing is lost. If a note changed somewhere else while you were typing, both versions are kept and a message tells you.
Study
What is the Study page?
It's where you read back what you've written. Pick a book, notebook, theme, connection or question on the left to see those verses in order with your notes under them.
What does Word Study do?
It shows the Hebrew or Greek word behind an English word, with its meaning and where else it's used.
